MOVE OVER, BIG BANANA: A Yuge Milo Tin Is Coming To ’Straya In 2019

Australia has a deeply odd obsession with plonking random large objects in outback locations.

We’ve got the Big Merino (with a whopping great ballsack to boot) in Goulburn, the Big Beer Can in Cobar and the Big Prawn in Ballina, to name but a few.

In 2019, we’re adding another iteration to the large list: a fuck-off big Milo Tin is coming to the town of Kempsey in northern New South Wales.

not a drill

It all started when Milo posted a pic to their Facey asking Aussies if they’d like to see their beloved malt-heavy choccie drink immortalised in the form of a big ass monument (as if they didn’t know the answer… this is FB fishing at the highest level, but respec).

The post copped over 15,000 likes and nearly 2,000 comments, all in support of the art:

And in a move that is frankly both surprising and delighting, the ‘Big Milo Tin’ will be launched in 2019 to coincide with the 85th birthday of Milo.

The Milo factory is located just outside of Kempsey, in Smithtown, so the choice of location was obvious.

“We’ve been blown away by the level of support for the ‘Big Milo Tin’. What started as a fun idea has quickly grown into something much bigger,” Nestlé Factory Manager Mat Oram said in a statement.

Not content with just a tin, commenters also called on Milo to make the big monument multipurpose; that is, they want a cafe and/or milo museum inside and we are deeply here for this:

C’mon Milo. You know what to do.
