Ain’t No Mountain High Enough To Keep A Drunk Tourist From Climbing It

Estonian tourist, known only by one name, Pavel, sorta like Prince or Madonna or Retta, accidentally climbed a mountain instead of heading back to his hotel after a drunken night in the Alps this weekend.

(We’ve all been that sauced amirite?)

The 20-something was boozing at Cervinia resort in the Italian Alps, when he headed off on foot – in just shoes, not skis – towards his hotel. Except he took a wrong turn, headed up the wrong street, wandering up a ski run on the mountainside. The steepness of his climb up the Ventina didn’t raise any alarm bells for our boozed-up hero, so he kept going until he made it to Igloo, a bar and restaurant, about 2,400m above ground between the hours of 2 and 3 am.

Our snow bro broke into the chalet and passed out on a cushioned bench, where he was found with two empty water bottles by the restaurant’s staff the next morning, who got to him before a search party of firemen, police and drones.

Igloo’s owner, Alessandro Zavattaro, didn’t really mind the break-in: “Everything went well for him… It’s not that cold.” No comment from Pavel as yet.

Poor bloke copped a fine for his late night snow shenanigans, but wont be charged.
