Search and rescue services are today continuing efforts to locate two international tourists reported missing yesterday at a beach near Port Macquarie, NSW.
The search for Englishman Hugo Palmer and Frenchman Erwan Ferrieux, both 20, began after their unattended belongings were spotted at Shelly Beach around 6:30am on Monday.
A water and ground search involving Marine Rescue, SES, and NSW Police Force Marine Area Command is yet to locate either of the men.

NSW Police Inspector Michael Aldridge told the Port Macquarie News that in addition to a silver Holden Commodore station wagon the men had rented, authorities had discovered “personal items were located in the vehicle we would believe they wouldn’t leave”.
Inspector Aldridge added their towels were spotted near the waterline, sparking fears the men ventured into the water amid “terrible” conditions over the weekend.
Palmer is described as being around 180cm, of Caucasian appearance, with light-coloured hair and an athletic build. Ferrieux stands between 175cm and 180cm tall, has brown eyes and hair, and a tanned complexion.
Anyone with knowledge of their whereabouts, or who saw their vehicle in the day leading up to their disappearance, has been urged to directly contact Port Macquarie Police Station, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
