Missing Man Found In NSW 15 Days After Disappearing From QLD Music Festival

A 37-year-old man who was reported missing fifteen days ago in Queensland has resurfaced in a tiny New South Wales town, telling police he went off grid over fears somebody wanted to kill him.

Nanango man Bradley Smith went missing after attending the Rabbits Eat Lettuce festival in Elbow Valley on April 23, kicking off a manhunt which employed police crews, helicopters search teams, and State Emergency Services personnel.

Queensland Police say he spent last night with family in the NSW town of Legume, some 30km east of Elbow Valley.

He called police this morning to advise them of his whereabouts, saying he avoided contacting family or friends over the last fortnight over fears for his life.

Officers confirmed Smith’s location around 10am this morning.

The Courier-Mail reports Smith is understood to have some minor injuries as a result of his time in the bush, but is in generally good nick.

Inspector Stephen Angus told the paper investigations are ongoing into the details of his disappearance and why he spent such a long period of time avoiding contact with friends and relatives.

Smith’s reappearance comes a fortnight after two Rabbits Eat Lettuce attendees died following suspected drug use at the festival.
