Mike Pence Went To See ‘Hamilton’ & Got Dressed Down By Its Diverse Cast

When you’re Mike Pence – opposer of gay marriage, supporter of conversion therapy and right-hand man to fuckstick Donald Trump – you can’t expect to go see an on-stage celebration of diversity and *not* cop shit for it.

The vice president-elect copped it big time at a performance of the award-winning smash hit musical Hamilton in New York on Friday night, met with a chorus of boos as he arrived and a dressing down by the ah-mazing cast when he made to leave.
An audience member filmed peoples’ reaction to Pence’s security-flanked arrival at the Richard Rodgers Theatre and it’s suffice to say his reception was more than a little frosty.

There was also a standing ovation when the famous line “Immigrants, we get the job done” was delivered, according to CNN host Brian Stelter, as a not-at-all-subtle middle finger to Trump’s backwards approach to immigration.

The cast and crew of Hamilton – headed up by Rory O’Malley, as King George, and Javier Munõz, now playing Hamilton, both of whom are openly gay and heavily involved in LGBT advocacy – were told of Pence’s request to attend the evening show earlier in the day.
Rather than telling him to go fuck himself, the show – which hosted weekly Democratic voter registration drives outside the theatre – decided to take the unique opportunity to air their concerns about the upcoming Trump administration in a super-powerful curtain call.
With the cast rallied around him, actor Brandon Dixon – who plays Arron Burr, the nation’s third vice president – addressed Pence directly from the stage.
“We welcome you, and we truly thank you for joining us here at Hamilton: An American Musical — we really do,” he said.
“We are the diverse America, who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights.”

“We truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us. All of us,” he added.
A hyper-uncomfortable Pence apparently tried to get the hell outta dodge before the end of Dixon’s speech, but a show spokesman said -while he did leave his seat – the future VP stood in the hallway outside the theatre’s entrance to hear it in full.

So, whose idea was it for Pence to go see Hamilton while ‘Murica’s anti-Trump sentiment continues to rage? We’ll just leave this here.
