Mike Baird’s Text To Voters On Election Eve Vexes Some, Leaves Most With FOMO

Happy State Election day, NSW mates! Enjoy exercising your democratic right to vote while holding a sausage sammy at your local Public School. What a day to be alive.

Much like last month’s election in Queensland which saw a string of Brisbane clubs text their patron contact list anti-labor propaganda on election day eve, NSW Premier and LNP frontrunner Mike Baird similarly curbed the media blackout—which pertains to radio and TV ads only, but not dumb lists illustrated with GIFs, evidently—by sending a text out to voters (it’s unsure at this point how these numbers were obtained and which voters were targeted, but here’s looking at you, Brandis). Comedian Tom Ballard received it, and it looked like this.

Pretty standard stuff, right. While the Sydney Morning Herald today reports that the txt from last night upset voters, a glance at Twitter this morning and it’s pretty obvious that the message didn’t reach particularly far (did anybody in NSW reading this get it? pls tell us in the comments), making Baird inadvertently deal out critical levels of FOMO en masse.

Observe. Txt ur m8s, see who’s keen:

Raise your hand if you have been personally victimised by a lack of texts from the NSW premier.
