Five months ago, we reported that NSW Premier Mike Baird was spotted taking a photo with Scott Marsh‘s infamous #CasinoMike mural, which decorated the rear of The Lord Gladstone until it was painted over.
His office refused to comment on the Chippendale laneway photoshoot at the time, and now we know why – old mate and his social media newbies were saving it for a very special occasion.
That occasion’s “graffiti removal day”, which of course he’d be aware of because the man is an expert at scrubbing away vestiges of culture, and it comes with this punchline:
The photo’s been flooded with cries of “wanker”, “tosser” and, a personal fave, “When’s Mike Baird removal day?”, despite a back-peddle on writing off Marsh’s mural as graffiti.
This tweet pretty much sums up the Internet’s reaction:
The saddest thing about this: the mural (at the Gladdy) was painted over months ago. He went there specially, got the pic and saved it up. pic.twitter.com/njav9SrXwj
