Author Of Bombshell Trump Book Flees ‘Today’ Interview After Tough Question

The author of insanely popular (and controversial) book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House noped the fuck out of an interview with Ben Fordham on The Today Show after Fordham asked him about his claim the president is currently having an affair.

Though it’s not in the book, you may recall that Michael Wolff has been slyly implying during interviews that Trump is having an affair as we speak, and that he didn’t include it in his manuscript because he didn’t have the smoking gun piece of evidence to back it up.

It was a pretty huge claim from a dude known for writing in the mode of New York gossip columns, which are basically a loose assemblage of huge claims.

When Fordham pressed him on this specific claim, Wolff said he was experiencing technical issues in the cross from London, and repeated that he couldn’t hear Fordham’s question. The video is pretty funny, especially as an example of a guy who has absolutely pretended to have technical difficulties during live interviews before.

“You said during a TV interview last month that you are absolutely sure that Donald Trump is currently having an affair, while President, behind the back of the First Lady. I repeat, you said you were absolutely sure,” asked Fordham.

“Hold on, I can’t …” Wolff muttered in response.

“Last week, you backflipped and said, ‘I do not know if the President is having an affair.’ Do you owe the President and the First Lady an apology, Mr Wolff?” Fordham continued.

“I can’t hear you. Hello?” Wolff responded.

After a bit more back and forth, he just gets up and leaves. In case you weren’t already 100% convinced of this, the Today hosts later confirmed that no, there were not any technical difficulties to speak of.

Keep on keeping on, Mike!
