Amid mounting speculation regarding her whereabouts and her notable absence from the public eye, America’s First Lady Melania Trump has issued a Twitter statement confirming that she’s, uh, still at the White House.
Trump, who hasn’t been seen in public for 20 days, tweeted that she’s been “feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!”
I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I’m doing. Rest assured, I’m here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!

The message comes nearly three weeks after Trump underwent a medical procedure at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, to treat what a spokesperson called “a benign kidney condition.”
But that hasn’t stopped the rampant theorising on Trump’s extended absence from official White House outings. It’s been suggested that Trump may have actually undergone a more serious medical procedure than first reported; wilder conspiracy-types reckon she may have fled back to New York City.
Spokesperson Stephanie Grisham binned those rumours wholesale, telling Politico “we deal with conspiracy theories all the time,” and reiterating that “she was hospitalized for almost a week and is now home and recovering.”
The intensely private Trump is next expected to make a public appearance at the end of June, when members of Congress and their families will meet for a summer picnic.
