Meek Mill Sentenced To Minimum 2 Years In Prison For Violating Probation

Meek Mill Prison

Rapper Meek Mill, who is probably best known for being Nicki Minaj‘s ex-fiancé, has been handed down a prison sentence for violating probation.

The 30-year-old (real name Robert Rihmeek Williams) appeared in a Philadelphia court on Monday (US time), where Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley ruled that Meek’s two recent brushes with the law were a violation of his probation related to a previous drugs and weapons case from 2008.

In March, Meek was charged with assault after an altercation at St. Louis International Airport and in August, he was arrested in New York City for reckless driving of his motorcycle. Though both charges were dropped, TMZ reports that Brinkley found that the arrests alone were violations.

Meek previously violated probation in 2015, resulting in the same judge sentencing him to house arrest.

This time, Brinkley handed down a 2-4 year prison sentence, carrying a minimum of 2 years. The rapper was remanded into custody.

Page Six reports that his lawyer is planning to appeal.
