Last night, a truly glorious misuse of a professional Twitter account occurred, and we literally could not have laughed harder.
Virgin Australia, obviously frustrated with the kerfuffle around the release of new album ‘The Life of Pablo’, decided to let Kanye West know how they felt. Or, they were in agreeance that the album deserved 9/10 rating given by Pitchfork, rather than the 30/10 Ye demanded.
Regardless, they went in. They went in hard.
Sadly, Virgin deleted the tweet absolutely quick smart, and posted an apology:
A recent tweet on our account was not published by a Virgin Australia employee and we are investigating the matter.

2/2 We apologise for any offence caused.

Alas, it was the fault of Aussie media agency, Carat. According to mUmbrella, it was thought to be the fault of a junior staffer. The agency tweeted an apology today:
Carat Australia apologises for a recent Tweet that we mistakenly posted on Virgin Australia’s account. We regret any damage possibly caused.

So many apologies, considering majority of the responses were super positive. Which would be because half of the world absolutely fkn hates Yeezy, and the half who love him are really upset with him RN for the terrible rollout of ‘TLOP’. And the fact he’s announced he won’t be selling the album on iTunes. And his tweet about Bill Cosby. And his lyric about Taylor Swift. *exhales*
So, like, w/e. If you’re gonna tell someone to eat a dick, directing it at one of the most divisive and thoroughly hated men in the music industry is probably the best case scenario. Y’know?
