Gird your loins and open your hearts, Australia: sweet Matty J is comin’ back to your screen as this year’s Bachelor, and if the first trailer is anything to go by, he’ll be receiving some sterling support throughout the season from the talents known as Matty J’s Abs.

In the promo, the well-coiffed heartthrob and his many muscles pensively recap the moment that tore our collective hearts asunder last year: getting dropped on national TV by Bachelorette Georgia Love.
“I really did love Georgia,” he says, staring into the middle distance like a tortured hero on the cover of a Mills & Boon.
But then! Katy Perry starts! His wounds have healed! He’s ready to try again!
“The prospect of falling in love again is more exciting than anything else,” he tells us, and the entire country sighs wistfully.
Then there’s some ladies getting out of a car, a girl doing a walkover with a rhythmic gymnastics ribbon (why), some roses, some giggling, yadda yadda yadda, let’s get back to the surfing shots, shall we?
