Man Seriously Injured After Alleged Nail Studded Bat Attack In Bondi Beach

A 34-year-old man is recovering in hospital with severe head injuries after being attacked by a group of men on Bondi Beach.

Witnesses claim the three men brandished nail studded bats and an axe during the savage ordeal.

One told local paper The Wentworth Courier “I saw the guy who got hit kind of fall over and stumble a bit… His whole face was covered in blood and his hair as well.
“A few guys seemed to be chasing after them to try and catch them before the police came.”

A woman who claims to have treated the victim at the scene said “this happened in broad daylight on a beautiful Bondi day. Seriously what is going on in the world!?
“Life must be pretty bad if that is your idea of a good thing to do on a sunny Thursday.”
The man is currently receiving treatment at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst in a stable condition.

It’s believed the men fled the scene in a white Mercedes, and witnesses have described them as tall and Caucasian.

NSW Police are conducting a manhunt for those involved, and are appealing for anyone with information regarding the attack to come forward. You can contact them at 1800 333 000, or via their website.
