Man Dies After 16-Metre Fall From A Zipline In Queensland

A man has died and a woman is seriously injured after a horror 16-metre plunge from a zipline in far north Queensland.

The pair, from South Australia, were visiting the Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours in the Daintree rainforest when the accident happened.

The woman was airlifted to Cairns Hospital with serious injuries, but the man died at the scene.

The circumstances of the accident are not clear.

Police were on the scene yesterday, with investigators from Workplace Health and Safety due to arrive Wednesday morning.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

According to the Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours website, the zipline allows visitors to “enjoy breathtaking views into the canopy, down to cascading streams and out to the Great Barrier Reef”.
