Man Busted Attempting To Spirit Dinghy Filled With Goon Bags Onto Palm Island

Queensland police have seized a Schoolies-grade quantity of booze from a man in a dinghy they spotted pulling in shore on Palm Island early Sunday morning.

A police report on the incident states that a search of the boat led to the discovery of 132 litres of wine, approximately 16 litres of spirits and 13.1 litres of beer, the contents of which is visually displayed in the image above.

The 22-year-old man has been charged with possession of liquor in a restricted area due to Palm Island’s controversial alcohol possession restrictions that have been imposed since 2006. The law was implemented in an attempt to curtail the systemic alcohol abuse and subsequent related issues that were discovered within the community.
