The inspiring and incredibly resilient Malala Yousafzai is heading to Australia this December for a pair of special In Conversation events.

Yousafzai is the latest guest in The Growth Faculty‘s string of high-profile live appearances, following on from the organisation’s hugely successful An Evening with Hillary Rodham Clinton back in May as part of their Women World Changers series.

Malala, as you’re probably aware, first rose to public prominence at the age of just 11 when she began blogging and campaigning on the issue of education rights for girls in her native Pakistan, in a region that was – at the time – controlled by the Taliban.

At the age of 15, Taliban forces attempted to assassinate her over her activism by storming a bus she was on and shooting her in the head. She survived, and relocated to the UK to continue her activist work. At age 17, she became the youngest Nobel laureate of all-time by being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Today, now aged 21, Malala Yousafzai is one of the most influential up-and-coming political figures in the world, working tirelessly through various charitable causes – while studying at Oxford – to ensure all girls around the world have safe, legal, and unopposed access to the 12 vital years of education that western societies take for granted.

Malala will be appearing in both Sydney and Melbourne this coming December for An Evening with Malala Yousafzai.

Tickets for the event begin at $99 and will be available via The Growth Faculty.

Event dates are as follows:

AN EVENING WITH MALALA YOUSAFZAI

Monday, December 10th – International Convention Centre, Sydney NSW
Tuesday, December 11th – Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne VIC
