Making A Murderer Beefcake Jerry Buting Is Writing A Book

Hey Making a Murderer fans. Jerry Buting, half of Steven Avery’s criminal defence team in the Netflix miniseries is writing a book on the irresistibly sexy topic of American jurisprudence and the criminal justice system.

Buting, along with fellow heartthrob Dean Strang, became popular after the miniseries’ conclusion because of their deft courtroom manner and commitment to justice. They’ve amassed a (largely female) fanbase which Strang’s wife has described as “baffling”.

Buting announced his book via Twitter, with this cute tweet:

Crim def atty. Be still my beating heart. The book is reported to delve into the Steven Avery case – which you’ve likely argued about at 1:30am in a pub somewhere – but will also cover “dysfunction in the criminal justice system on a broader scale”. Regardless of your take on whether Avery did the crime (he did, come on) there was still a deeply rank and unjust police investigation and prosecution, so Buting clearly has a lot of insight.

Despite some speculation, Buting says this book is not a response to recent comments in the media from Avery prosecutor Ken Kratz – who was majorly dragged in the doco – but rather the culmination of Buting’s experiences over a 35 year law career.
Expect a release in 2017.
