Brisbane woman Candice Hedge was one of the people injured in the terror attack in London‘s Borough Market last week. She was at work with her boyfriend when two men armed with knives came into their restaurant.
Despite being stabbed in the neck, she survived, and now she’s given an interview to Sunday Night explaining exactly what happened that night – and showing remarkable courage and resilience at the same time.

The wound on Hedge’s neck narrowly missed her arteries and vocal chords, which means she had an incredibly lucky escape. It’s enough to make anyone feel a bit funny about the place where they live, but she told Melissa Doyle that she had no plans to leave London.
“I’m not going to be deterred. I’ve got more to do here. The last thing I want is to be scared off by something like this.
“I’m not going to let them change my life. I’m going to turn it to my advantage if I can. We can’t let our lives be ruled by fear, and we need to carry on, together, strong.”
