Aussie household name and veteran presenter Lisa Wilkinson has just announced her shock departure from Channel 9’s the Today show, via a Twitter announcement.
The beloved host of the long-running morning show announced she is leaving the gig after ten years of waking up the country, effective immediately, stating she has already had her last day.
Confirming that the “network had been unable to meet expectations”, the statement also thanked her long-time co-hosts Karl Stefanovic, Sylvia Jeffries & Georgie Gardner.

Lisa is known as a fierce feminist figure in the industry, making waves when she took the piss out The Daily Mail’s insane sexism towards her, and being one of the foremost fighters against the wage gap in Australia.
She is also currently the editor-at-large for Huffington Post Australia.
