Don’t freak out but teen queen Lindsay Lohan just hinted at a legit Mean Girls sequel, and no, I’m not talking about the shitty sequel they gave us years ago.
The Mean Girls star reminisced on the hit film during an episode of her mum’s podcast Listen To Me, The OG Mama D Podcast With Dina Lohan And Chanel Omari.
Obviously, the cast reunited for a virtual reunion recently, reprising the infamous four-way phone call. But now Lindsay is hinting at a proper sequel, saying she knows “they’re gonna do something.”
“Oh, I mean, I know that they’re gonna do something, but I just don’t know exactly what yet and it would be an honour to be a part of it, obviously,” she said.
THEY’RE GONNA DO SOMETHING?! Can you IMAGINE a legitimate sequel? Maybe with all of the Plastics being high school soccer mums? Iconic.
She then went on to talk about how much fun she had during the virtual reunion, discussing how all of the girls are still friends.
“It was really fun to do you know the catching up all together the reunion because it felt like – and they didn’t air part of this – but it felt like it was, we had all just seen each other the day before,” she said.
Despite not seeing each other regularly, Lohan noted that the amount of time they spent together when they were young means that the friendships still feel solid years later.
“It still feels like we know each other so well ’cause we spent so much time with each other and we discussed how it’s been working with each other that it’s been, you know, so continuous over the years that it feels like we’re all still good friends, which was really nice, to catch up with everyone. So that was really fun.”
Honestly, I fucking love this for them.
No plans for a proper sequel (sorry Mean Girls 2 (2011)) have actually been confirmed yet, but with Lindsay Lohan now joining Rachel McAdams in the “I’d be down for a sequel” category, it might just happen. I mean, a girl can dream, right?
