Lawn bowls is a sport of champions, a part of our national consciousness, intrinsic to the fabric of Australian suburbia (see: Mick Molloy‘s Crackerjack). It’s the summer sport for people without the patience to stand out on a cricket pitch for five-plus hours at a time – and who prefer to play in a jazzy white outfit while sinking a cheeky tinnie or two.
We at PEDESTRIAN.TV are fans of the humble sport of lawn bowls – and we challenge you to Lawn Bowls and Chill as we farewell summer at our upcoming Tropicale Sundowner Session, supported by Coopers, on March 25 at North Bondi Bowlo.
It’s the perfect arvo (3 to 8pm) bash for you and your pals to sip on a free Coopers Session Ale, chomp on some nibblies, and bask in the choons from Winston Surfshirt (DJ Set).
I speak for all of us here when I say that we are the true kings and queens of the green – in that we have very little idea what we’re actually doing but enjoy both gentle sledging and hollering uncontrollably when our bowl snuggles right up close to the jack (yep, nailed the lingo).
And we’ll be sledging y’all with a refreshing summer style session ale in hand, the newest member of the Coopers beer fam. The tropical theme of the party reflects the fruity aromas of the beer, which also boasts a dry bitterness and distinct hoppy character – should you become as obsessed after the event as we clearly are, you can pick up a six-pack from your local liquor store on your way home.
Up for it? Enter for all the ~good times~ and fierce competition of our Tropicale Sundowner Session below or here (and create some hot content under #COOPERSSESSION)
