Las Vegas Death Toll Reaches 50, Now Deadliest Mass Shooting In US History

It has now been confirmed that the death toll from tonight’s shooting at a music festival outside a Las Vegas casino has surpassed 50, making it officially the deadliest mass shooting in US history.

The horrific number of casualties is the latest update from the last reported 20 deaths, and tragically surpasses the 49 killed in Orlando, in June 2016 at the Pulse gay nightclub massacre.

The total number of injured from the shooting at The Route 91 Harvest festival outside The Mandalay Bay Casino on the Vegas Strip has also been upgraded to over 200.

The assailant’s identity has also been revealed to be Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old local man.

County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, confirms that the gunman was shot dead by police in his 32nd floor hotel room in the casino, adding, “We have no idea what his belief system was. Right now, we believe he was the sole aggressor and the scene is static.”

Authorities are still seeking a suspected “associate” of the gunman for questioning:
