Knife-Wielding Man Shot Dead By Sydney Police, Name And Motive Unknown

NSW Police have launched a critical incident investigation following the shooting death of a man after a confrontation at Quakers Hill Police Station, in Sydney‘s north-west.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was allegedly carrying a knife when he walked into the police station on Lalor Road earlier today; a confrontation with at least one officer ensued, during which a police firearm was discharged. 
Emergency services were called at approximately 10.40am, responding to reports of a man with a gunshot wound. The man later died, but no police officers were injured in the incident.
A short time ago, NSW Police held a press conference, and said that the State Crime Command‘s Homicide Squad would conduct an investigation into today’s shooting. 
At this stage, the man remains unidentified, and his motive for coming to the police station remains unknown.
