KFC Is Deliciously Trolling Instagram With A Fake ‘Clean Eating’ Blogger

This week, the UK branch of KFC announced its Clean Eating Burger, a vegetable monstrosity consisting of a “chia-seeded cauliflower bun, unsweetened almond yoghurt, ice cube relish, spiralised chicken breast, and kale.”
It doesn’t appear that the creators of the Double Down have had an actual healthy eating epiphany, though – the burger in question appears to be part of an elaborate and hilarious viral marketing campaign.

At the centre of this campaign is ‘clean eating’ blogger Figgy Poppleton-Rice, AKA our new favourite thing on the internet.
Figgy is a self-described #GreenGangster and #CauliflowerConniseur, and somebody somewhere has put a lot of effort into crafting her social media presence
She has a blog full of almost-plausible recipes and a Twitter and Instagram loaded with raw food realness and a deeply sarcastic selection of ‘inspirational’ quotes.
Preach:
The overall aesthetic of her Instagram feed is so spot-on, we shed a tiny tear:
Figgy’s dairy alternative milkshake brings all the boys to the yard:
Figgy’s blog is also incredible, and you can go there if you want to try making her rice cake and egg white brunch (step one: “Get the rice cake out of its packet. If it’s already out, skip to the next step”).
It’s unclear whether KFC actually plans to serve up any Clean Eating Burgers, or what this viral marketing stunt is leading up to, but we take our hats off to this genuine quality internetting.
