Katy Perry Said She’s Ready To Let Her Feud With T-Swift Go & We Are Shook

WELL. Katy Perry‘s 48-hour livestream, a project designed to promote the singer’s new album Witness and also (apparently) straddle the fine line between art and madness, has thrown up an absolute corker of a confession.
Speaking to Arianna Huffington of Thrive Global, Perry opened up about the feud between her and Taylor Swift, which has been going since at least 2014 and has given us pop gems including ‘Bad Blood‘ and ‘Swish Swish‘.
Incredibly, considering their history, Perry said that she was “100 per cent” ready to just… let the whole thing go.

Wow.
“I’m ready to let it go. Absolutely, 100 percent,” she said. “I forgive her, and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her, and I think it’s actually… I think it’s time.

“There are bigger fish to fry, and there are bigger problems in the world. I love her and I want the best for her, and I think she’s a fantastic songwriter, and like, I think that if we both, her and I, can be representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences, I think the whole world is going to go, like, ‘Yeah, we can do this.’

“Maybe I don’t agree with everything she does, and maybe she doesn’t agree with everything I do, but like, I just… I really, truly, want to come together, and in a place of love and forgiveness, and understanding and compassion.

“God bless her on her journey. I want to operate in a positive, kind space. I want to be an example of kindness, compassion, love, and I forgive and forget.

“That wasn’t easy for me. I think everybody knows that wasn’t easy for me. But it’s fine. I want to let it go. I really want the best for every person.”
Actually, considering that this confession comes after one of 2017’s shadiest moments, in which Swift made her entire back catalogue available on Spotify at the very same time as Perry’s new album was dropping, I think we can upgrade our GIF-usage to this one:
And uh, yeah, the internet has some feelings about this development.

Honestly, who can blame her for wanting to drop the whole thing? That high-profile a feud just seems exhausting. Still – we’ll be keeping a keen eye out for a Swift response.
