Katherine Heigl Apologises For Pulling A Cemetery Photo Shoot Like A Goth Teen

Katherine Heigl Apologises For Inappropriate Cemetery Pics

Katherine Heigl has apologised to fans via two Instagram videos after she copped some negative feedback on the since-deleted pictures of herself and husband, singer-songwriter Josh Kelly, hanging out at a cemetery. It was a move she claims was only meant to lighten an otherwise emotional situation for herself.

An image of her with an angel statue was posted with the caption, “I also managed to get in a little gossip with the girls.” And one of Kelly was posted with “[He] found his own grave…which was weird.”

The photos were taken after the reason for her being there in the first place, visiting the headstone of her late older brother who died at only 16 after getting into a car accident in 1986. Her grandparents are buried at the same cemetery.

“It’s kind of a heavy thing to go and visit my loved ones’ graves, and I decided to find some moments of levity and humour and didn’t realise how inappropriate I was being,” Heigl explained in the videos.

“I deeply apologise and I thank you guys for understanding that sometimes I don’t think things through clearly enough and I am grateful for your input and for giving me a heads up when I’m maybe going too far. And thank you for forgiving me. Next time I will be more thoughtful about other people’s feelings and not just my own.”

Here are the videos so you can listen for yourself.
