Kanye West Bails On Business Partner Jay Z’s Tidal Over A Rumoured $4M Debt

Just days after Jay Z launched his acclaimed (and emotionally loaded) comeback ‘4:44‘ on his streaming service Tidal, reports have emerged that business partner Kanye West has up and left the company.
He’s apparently citing money drama as the reason for walking, with TMZ reporting that West’s complained about Tidal owing him more than $3.9 million (US$3 million) (ouch).
Sources told TMZ that Yeezy’s pissed about not getting promised bonuses for luring in 1.5 million new Tidal subscribers with ‘Saint Pablo‘, as well as not being reimbursed for music videos.
Tidal on the other hand is reportedly threatening to sue West for not actually delivering said videos – but this is going to be messy regardless of who’s actually in the wrong, we reckon.
Particularly considering that Ye’s decision to split with Jay’s company actually precedes Jay Z’s collar-tug-inducing shit-talking on ‘4:44’:

“I know people backstab you, I feel bad too / But this f*** everybody attitude ain’t natural / But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye / You gave him 20 million without thinkin’ / He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*** was he thinkin’? / ‘F*** wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’ / But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.”
