The ‘Human Ken Doll’ Inexplicably Turned Up At Parliament For The Budget Again

Unlike the sorts of dignified establishments that have the name of their publication written in a serif font on their paper’s masthead, we didn’t send any trained experts into the lock-up to pore over the budget with a fine-tooth comb in time for its unveiling this evening. We don’t have pages and pages of thoughtful analysis about the government’s planned erosion of our system of progressive tax brackets. We don’t even have analysis on the interesting decision to dedicate $700,000 purely to researching blockchain. All we have is one question: why does Justin ‘The Human Ken Doll’ Jedlica keep appearing at Parliament House in time for the budget?

In case you’re unfamiliar with Jedlica, let me both introduce you to him and explain that charming sobriquet:

I think that speaks for itself.

Jedlica posted a number of photos to his Instagram this evening, appearing – alongside Real Housewives of Melbourne alumni Gamble Breaux – with Liberal Party ministers Peter Dutton and Julie Bishop.

This already seems incredibly strange, but it gets even stranger. This exact same thing happened last year as well:

It’s unclear which politician invited Jedlica both this time and last time, and even when the issue was raised in 2017’s Senate Estimates, no one was able to shed any light on his mysterious appearance.

(At parliament I mean. The secret to his actual appearance is lots and lots of cosmetic surgery.)

Politics: it’s bloody wild.
