This morning, during the huge Sydney storm that rendered me unable to get the bus to work (what a shame!), I decided to throw myself into a Reddit hole while waiting to clock on from home. I hadn’t been on Reddit for awhile, and of course the first thing I saw was an absolutely cursed image of murdered child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey surrounded by human teeth. Of course, I clicked, because that’s the kind of person I am.

If you somehow aren’t familiar with the case, 6-year-old JonBenét was found murdered in the basement of her family’s home in the US city of Boulder, Colorado on December 26, 1996 after an eight-hour search. She’d been strangled and had suffered a broken skull from a blow to the head. No one has ever been charged with her murder, and it remains one of America’s — and the world’s — most intriguing unsolved cases.
The framed image was posted by Reddit user rachfactory a day ago, after a mate saw it, freaked out, and snapped a pic. I mean, yes that is an absolute invasion of privacy but also what the actual hell, why is there a child murder victim surrounded by decaying teeth, candles and a weird human heart or blood clot looking thing.
A friend of mine saw this in a house she was cleaning. Yes those are TEETH and Jonbenet, and no we don’t live in Colorado. What is this?

The post of course led to much discussion, with many, many users attempting to figure out what in God’s name the framed image was all about.
(The teeth are just photos of teeth, by the way. Not actual framed teeth. It gave me some comfort to find this out, but not a lot, to be honest.)
Some people thought it was some kind of shrine.

Whatever it is, it can just go straight into the bin and stay there forever. Read the entire thread HERE, it’s quite the disturbing deep dive. Doesn’t get us any closer t figuring out who killed JonBenét, but it’s definitely given me a new fear of human teeth.
