‘Wolf Creek’ Star John Jarratt Charged With Historic Sexual Assault

Australian actor John Jarratt, known for his role in Wolf Creek, has been charged with a sexual assault offense that dates back four decades, it has been revealed today.

Per NSW Police reports, the alleged offense occurred in Sydney‘s eastern suburbs in the 1970s. An official police statement from this morning reads:

In September 1976, police will allege a man sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman at a house in Daintrey Place, Randwick.

The woman reported the incident to officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command in December 2017, who then commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, yesterday (Friday 24 August 2018), a 66-year-old man was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for the offence of rape.

He is due to appear before Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 10 October 2018.

Little else is known at this stage.

John Jarratt was a presenter on popular lifestyle show Better Homes and Gardens in the 1990s, along with his then-wife Noni Hazelhurst.

He has played guest roles in numerous Australian TV series, and joined the cast of McLeod’s Daughters in 2001.

He enjoyed a career resurgence with the film Wolf Creek in 2005, and flowed this up with a role in 2014’s Wolf Creek 2.
