JK Rowling Wants You To Know She’s Heaps Soz About Knocking Off Snape

While she’s certainly done other noteworthy things since, JK Rowling is getting a lot of mileage with post-fact commentary and revelations about the ‘Harry Potter‘ books – understandable, really, given that the series is one of the most widely read in history.

We found out that Dumbledore was gay, we found out that Harry and Voldemort are distantly related, we found out that JK almost killed off sweet, gentle, idiot Ron. Now we’re finding out that JK is actually super soz about fragging the gothic and deeply misunderstood Snape.

OK, here it is. Please don’t start flame wars over it, but this year I’d like to apologise for killing (whispers)… Snape. *runs for cover*

Apologising for a death has become an annual tradition on the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, apparently, with her having previously apologised for both Fred and Lupin.

RIP Snape, you definitely bullied children but you were, most of all, all along, a fictional character from a book about wizards.
