Jimmy Kimmel Plans To Gun For Harvey Weinstein At Next Year’s Oscars

Jimmy Kimmel has discussed his approach for his upcoming second stint at hosting the Academy Awards, revealing that he does indeed plan to drop some jabs towards disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

The 90th Oscars is set to go down next March Kimmel, the first to host back-to-back ceremonies since the 90s, is already putting together outlines for who exactly to roast, telling the New York Post Weinstein is at the top of his list and he has “no interest in protecting Harvey Weinstein.”

Whilst admitting the ongoing scandal is “not really a laughing matter”, Kimmel reveals he’ll have some “sly wisecracks” up his sleeves about the serial power abuser and alleged sex pest.

Although he admits he’ll need to step lightly:

There’ll be a lot of people in that room who maybe have been through experiences with him, and that’s not something I want them to relive on the night they get their Oscar.

Kimmel also notes how far away the Oscar ceremony still is, joking how the 2018 Academy Awards might not even go ahead, if the oft-discussed threat of nuclear annihilation under President Trump comes to fruition:

It’s hard to figure out what we’re going to say on the next show, let alone in March. There might not be an Oscars, because North Korea may have struck the Dolby Theatre.

Ah, North Korea humour. Ever reliable…

The revelations surrounding Weinstein’s alleged misconduct continues to grow however, the most recent being a former assistant breaking a non-disclosure agreement to speak out, so one would expect the topic to still be the talk of the town, come March.
