Jill Meagher’s Murderer Found Guilty Of Multiple Prior Sexual Assaults

According to breaking news reports, Adrian Bayley, the abhorrent scum who two years ago was convicted of raping and murdering ABC Radio staffer Jill Meagher, has been found guilty of a further three separate instances of brutal sexual assault on other young women in Melbourne in the months preceding Meagher’s death.

The ABC are reporting that a County Court has today proved beyond all reasonable doubt that Bayley, 43, “raped three other women including a young Dutch tourist in 2012, and two young prostitutes – one of them also in 2012 and the other almost 15 years ago.”
Bayley plead not guilty in all three trials, which began last year and ended this morning, on the grounds that his victims were misidentifying him due to his prominence in the media. His lawyer actually used the phrase, “[The victim] has jumped on the Adrian Bayley bandwagon.”
Jill Meagher’s disappearance in September 2012 – only two months after two of these assaults – led to an exhaustive search, an outpouring of grief, anger and ultimately support for her incredibly brave husband Tom Meagher and a galvanising social media campaign that garnered widespread national attention until her remains were tragically uncovered with assistance from Bayley, who was later sentenced to life in jail with a non-parole period of 35 years for her murder with a further 15 years added for her rape.
At the time of her abduction, Bayley was on parole having previously served 11 years in prison for a litany of other violent sexual assaults and attempted attacks.
