Need another excuse to take a sneaky South Korea trip with your besties? Well, Jetstar just started direct Gold Coast to Seoul flights and to celebrate, they’re slinging them for $309 each way.

South Korea is well on it’s way to becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations of 2020, so why not pick up a cheap flight now and be *that* friend that never shuts up about their upcoming holiday (me)?

“By introducing low fares to Seoul, we expect that South Korea will be a country that jumps to the top of many Australian travellers’ bucket lists,” Jetstar Group CEO Gareth Evans said, according to The Advertiser.

Jetstar will be flying direct to Seoul every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday as part of a codeshare partnership with Jeju Air. This is the first time an Australian airline has offered a direct flight to South Korea, previously only flown by Korean Air and Asiana.

Departing at 1.20pm three times per week, you’ll be touching down in the glorious city of Seoul in 9 hours and 40 minutes.

Australians go absolutely bonkers for a cheap flight, and Jetstar is keen to cash in on our endless desire for low-cost holidays.

“We know from experience that low cost flights have a strong influence on setting tourism trends, which we’ve seen in markets like Japan where the number of Australian visitors has doubled since we first launched flights in 2007.”

Thanks to the roaring success of K-pop bands like BTS, Australians are more obsessed with South Korean culture than ever before. But that’s not the only thing this glorious place has to offer.

South Korea is filled with delicious food, amazing fashion and is obviously the home of the world-famous K-beauty trend that makes you look like a wee lil baby even when you’re borderline middle-aged. South Korea is also home to the same picturesque cherry blossoms that Japan is so famous for.

Oh, and did I mention they have a CHEESE THEME PARK?

Seoul, and the rest of South Korea is the perfect blend of stunning traditional sights and quirky modern trends. For $309 each way, you’d have to think of an excuse NOT to go.

You can book flights on the Jetstar website.
