Jetstar Employee’s Rant About Whinging Passengers Goes Viral

We’ve all worked our share of retail and customer service jobs before, and we’re all aware of the horrors that the general public are capable of dishing out, especially on busy days.
That said, there’s a time and a place for angry rants, and it’s not the comments section of a national newspaper, as one unfortunate Jetstar employee has recently discovered.
Yesterday morning, a glitch shut down Jetstar’s computer network, leading to delays for more than 60,000 passengers. One employee took to The Sydney Morning Herald‘s Facebook page to vent, calling angry passengers “a bunch of whingers.”
“Obviously don’t travel enough. Happens to everyone and today it’s jetstars day (sic),” she wrote. “Sure ud be making the Same complaints if u were flying someone else and the same thing occured.”

“You are all a bunch of whingers!” she continued. “Grow up and think about the people that are working today and have to deal with all you nuts freaking about delays!”
As we were saying, we can’t help but sympathise with this young woman’s frustration, as we’ve no doubt she spent all morning being berated for a computer fault over which she had no control.
However, that’s the kind of shit you’ve just gotta suck up until it’s time for after-work drinks, not complain about on the Facebook page of the goddamn Sydney Morning Herald, where you’ll just enrage people further.
Jestar have said that they are in the process of “contacting” the young woman in question (ruh-roh) and told the Herald: “These comments are inappropriate and don’t reflect the views of Jetstar or our employees.”
“We know travelling at this time of the year can be stressful and we are extremely apologetic to all of our customers who have been delayed getting to their holidays today.”
We may be angry at Jetstar now, but let’s not forget that time they totally had everyone’s backs, when a cabin crew member-slash-Aussie legend warned post-Splendour passengers to flush their pingers ahead of sniffer dogs at Sydney airport
Happy Christmas commuting, everyone.
