JB Hi-Fi’s ‘Girl Games’ Section Is A Glorious Middle-Finger To Stereotypes

It’s hard to go all YAASSS KWEEN over an electronic goods store, but JB Hi-Fi? We might make an exception for ya’.

Employee Morris Umali, sick of customers asking for “games that girls will like”, just went fuck it and put up an *actual* stand of games girls would like: Dark Souls III, Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Black Ops, etc.

Yup. Not one of those games is particularly female-orientated and that is exactly the superbly made point. Balls to your gender stereotypes.

“All the women I know are playing the shooters and scary games,” he wrote on Facebook. “I’m the one playing Animal Crossing and crying to the moon.”

Honestly, the entire comment thread on Morris’ post is a pretty fun time, and a nice lil’ antidote to all that anti-female gamer bullshit lurking on every corner of the internet.

e.g. this person who asked about the ‘Games for Boys‘ section (no shade to the OG commenter):

Or this dude who made up some A+ gift guide ideas back in 2012:

Or even Morris’ update for Mother’s Day.

Haters gonna hate, gamers gonna game. Onya m8s.
