U.S. Lawmaker Resigns After Screaming N-Word On ‘Who Is America?’

Well, this was probably inevitable, but here it is: Jason Spencer, the U.S. lawmaker who made the unfortunate decision to scream the N-word and drop his dacks on Sacha Baron Cohen‘s show Who Is America?‘ has resigned.

Spencer was pranked into believing that Baron Cohen was an Israeli special forces commando who was teaching him a number of techniques to defend against terrorists. Why he assumed these things specifically were actual Israeli military policy is something we will perhaps never know.

House Speaker David Ralston’s office confirmed that Spencer has filed his resignation. Ralson earlier called for Spencer to do so, back when he was futilely claiming that he was going to stick it out.

Funnily enough, Spencer was already on his way out anyway. He lost the Republican primary, meaning he’d be out of office in November anyway – so this is merely accelerating his departure. Spencer had financial reason to try and stick it out: if he got through to November, he would have filed eight years of service and would be entitled to publicly-funded health insurance for life.

Possibly he should have contemplated this before dropping trou and screaming the N-word repeatedly because a fake Mossad commando told him to. But hey.
