Jacqui Lambie’s Challenging Pollies To Donate Their 2% Pay Rise To Charity

Thanks to the expiration of the 2% deficit levy on incomes over $180,000, on Sunday every single politician in the Australian government will receive a 2% pay rise.
On the same day, hospo workers are going to cop a penalty rate cut.
These things, together – they do not feel quite right, to me.
And they don’t feel right to alternating people’s champion/racist berk Jacqui Lambie, who at this point in time has her feet squarely planted in the “hero” box of her puzzling political hopscotch grid.
She posted a video this afternoon promising to donate $5,000 – which is her pay rise, plus a little more – to the Make A Wish Foundation. As she says:

“There are millions of Australians out there that are really annoyed with every politician that exists in this country. One of the reasons they are really annoyed is that we just got a pay rise.

“Today, I’m sending $5,000 to Make A Wish Australia. That’s what I’m doing with my money. That money will be spent on Tasmanian kids that need it a lot more than what I do to make their lives just a little bit better.

“The challenge is out there to every other federal politician […] Match me dollar for dollar. I challenge you. Pay it forward. Donate your raise.”

Onya, Jacqui.
