Celebs Are Ruining Ivanka Trump’s Insta Feed To Advocate For Migrant’s Kids

Celebrities are absolutely ruining Ivanka Trump‘s Instagram feed this Thanksgiving, and I, for one, am thankful for it.

If you follow Cara Delevingne, Olivia Wilde, Alexa Chung or Sophia Amoruso on Instagram, you might have seen a message to Ivanka today.

“Dear Ivanka,” it reads. “I see you’re following me on Instagram. This Thanksgiving I would be grateful if you use the influence you have to advocate for a CLEAN Dream Act by December.”

Earlier this year, President Trump ended the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, an Obama-era policy which paved the way for children of illegal immigrants to become citizens. Some 800,000 people were left in the lurch, and after huge backlash – including a rare rebuke showing from Obama – Trump backed down on his DACA statements.

But no one’s really clear what that means for the Dreamers (a.k.a. the kids of illegal immigrants). Advocates are urging for Trump to pass a clean version of the Dream Act of 2017, one which allows the 800,000 to become citizens (if they meet the strict requirements), but which doesn’t use the legislation as a vehicle for increased spending to further militarise the borders, expand immigrant detention, or build the elusive wall.

So the Women’s March organised a bunch of celebrities that Ivanka Trump follows on Instagram to post messages at her directly.

One can only hope that she takes some time out of stuffing her giant clam shell* with anaemic pumpkins to check Instagram.

*Not a euphemism.
