It’s The Last Day To Physically Drop Your SSM Votes In, So Bloody Hop To It

Well folks, we’ve reached the end of probably the most exhausting part of the same-sex marriage postal vote process. It’s the very final day that the people of Australia can put their votes in to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The only thing is, is that you need to physically hand in your vote to a collection office.

I know, I know. This is a lot more effort than just popping down to the local post box but hey, you had plenty of time to do that so tbh you truly have nobody but yourself to blame.

Anyway, if you’ve still got that voting form at home stuck to the fridge, then go right ahead and tick that ‘yes’ box (because it’s very bloody clear that we’re very much in the Vote Yes camp here), and take it along to any of these drop-off locations before 4.30pm today.

SYDNEY: Level 8, 44 Market Street, Sydney.
MELBOURNE:
Level 2, 12 Gheringhap Street, Geelong.
CANBERRA: ABS House, Ground Floor, 45 Benjamin Way, Belconnen.
ADELAIDE: ANZ House, Level 9, 11 Waymouth Street, Adelaide.
BRISBANE: 295 Ann Street, Brisbane City.
DARWIN: Jacana House, 39-41 Woods Street, Darwin.
HOBART: 200 Collins Street, Hobart.
PERTH: The Durack Centre, Level 1, 263 Adelaide Terrace, Perth.

So if you’ve left it to the last minute (like all those uni assignments you did at 4am the day of submission), get yourself to your nearest ABS office if you can, and hand that sucker in.

The next date we’re waiting for now is November 15, where the result from the vote is announced, and hey maybe the Government will actually move to pass the bill to recognise same-sex marriages.

Fingers crossed, folks.
