Melbourne experienced some dense-as-hell fog this morning, which made life absolute hell for commuters – and totally grouse for fans of ethereal mist.
Thanks to a winning combination of gentle breezes and a pretty clear sky overnight, residents awoke to found their world utterly immersed in the haze.
It hasn’t been too spectacular for those traveling to and from work, with major transport corridors slowed by minimised visibility.
Fog means visibility is low across Melbourne. We can all help to improve road safety by slowing down & driving to the conditions #victraffic

The State Emergency Service advised drivers to flick their lights on while traveling.
Melbourne Airport experienced some serious fog too, with visibility reportedly down to 200m at Tullamarine at one point. At least one flight had its landing delayed due to this atmospheric tomfoolery.

The fog is expected to linger around for a fair while, before settling into a more manageable low cloud kind of arrangement. It’s predicted the temperature will reach 15C a lil’ later in the day.
