In An Unexpected Twist, Amazon Just Opened Its First Physical Book Store

!  !
Hope ya’ll are ready for this. In a weird plot twist, online giant Amazon have opened up their first physical book store, called ‘Amazon Books‘.
It looks absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, but… what? Amazon have been seen as ‘the enemy’ of bookstores for decades now, because they could sell titles at lower costs because they didn’t have bricks & mortar costs to worry about.
The store houses 5000 – 6000 titles, and each one has a placard with a synopsis and Amazon rating. It also has section dedicated to online bestsellers and a bunch of other excellent sections like ‘Award Winners’, ‘4.5 Stars & Above’, and so on.
Jennifer Cast, vice president of Amazon, said that they’d be using online data to make the store the best possible place to purchase books, with the added benefit of in-person customer service:
“It’s data with heart,” she said. “We’re taking the data we have and we’re creating physical places with it.”
Sadly, it only exists in Seattle right now, and Amazon have said they’re focussing on one location at a time. Get those fingers crossed tightly, Australia
