Dane’s acting career spanned nearly 30-years and was notable for a raft of small parts on significant shows. Throughout his life, Dane made appearances on popular programs like The Fresh Prince of Bel-AirSister SisterMonkBoy Meets World, and Friends, playing a Department of Human Services officer in the episode The One With The Baby On The Bus. In more recent times he made appearances on Girl Meets World and Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.

Dane’s biggest and most notable role, however, was in the recurring spot as Hank, the security guard of the business park where Dunder Mifflin was situated in Scranton. Hank’s scenes were some of the low-key funniest ones to grace The Office, often coming at odds with Rainn Wilson’s Dwight Schrute, although the role arguably peaked in the fifth season episode Crime Aid, with a stirring performance of Me & The Blues.

RIP Hugh. Sing the blues forever.
