Former ‘Home & Away’ Star Ben Unwin Found Dead In Northern NSW At Age 41

Former ‘Home & Away’ actor Ben Unwin was found in his home in northern NSW on August 14 by authorities, a day before his 42nd birthday.

As per reports from Yahoo Lifestyle, the 41-year-old was found unresponsive in his home in Minyon Falls, Whian Whian near Nimbin last Wednesday, after calls were made about his welfare.

In a statement, NSW Police have said that they’re not treating the death as suspicious.

Ben Unwin played heartthrob-turned-bad-boy Jesse McGregor who came into Summer Bay in 1996, where he went into partnership with Alf Stewart in the local bait shop. When the shop burnt down, he began running illegal work out of his mechanic’s garage before being arrested and sent to gaol for two years after a high-speed chase, which saw him depart the show in 2000 and return in 2002.

Ben Unwin acted alongside Summer Bay alumni like Kate RitchieRyan Kwanten, Ada Nicodemou and Bec Hewitt, during his tenure at Home And Away and scored a nomination for ‘Best New Talent’ at the 1997 Logie Awards and ‘Best Newcomer’ at the British Television Awards in the same year.

After stepping away from acting in 2002, he completed a degree in law and went on to pursue a career as a senior solicitor in North Sydney.
