HOLY SHIT: A ‘Dodgeball’ Charity Reunion Could See You Join Average Joe’s

Fancy yourself slightly more useful than a cock-flavoured lollipop? Confident in your wrench-dodging abilities? Reckon you could throw a ball at someone so hard you make them bleed their own blood?

The legendary tournament final between Average Joe’s and the Globo Gym Purple Cobras might’ve aired on ESPN 8 – The Ocho way back in 2004, but don’t for a second think that that means the arch rivalry is at any level other than boiling point.
The gang from ‘Dodgeball‘ is back together, ready to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge all over again. This time? It’s for charity.
Omaze has put up a campaign where one lucky winner will be flown to the ultimate dodgeball showdown, joining either Ben Stiller and the almighty Purple Cobras, or the plucky, if not slightly pudding-ish, Average Joe’s in a battle for the ages.
The charity-driven competition is raising funds for the Stiller Foundation, which supports impoverished children and provides access to educational opportunities and support in places like Haiti.
But the real kicker here? The cast of the film got back together for a promotional video. And it is good.
We’re talkin’ Stiller as the dastardly White Goodman, apparently fully recovered from his food-related relapse and back down to fighting weight once again.
We’re talkin’ Vince Vaughn as Peter LaFleur, a little older, a little greyer, but just as bullish and cocky.
We’re talkin’ Christine Taylor as Kate Veatch, still throwing up in her mouth at White’s repulsive advances.
Hell, even Justin Long as Justin Redman returns to do a little seriously underrated physical comedy.
Nice to see Blazer back in the Cobras squad, but I’m severely worried about Blade and Lazer. What happened to them? Are they still with Globo Gym? Did they finally break away from the cult of White? So many questions.
In a rarity, this promo happens to be open to everyone in Australia, not just US residents, so you can get squarely around it by heading on over to the Omaze page. There’s plenty of other neat prizes on offer, and all the cash you donate is going to a worthy cause.
Now, if we can get Steve the Pirate back on board, we’ll really be talkin’.
