High School Suspension For Three Boys Who Sent Clementine Ford Abuse

In extremely surprising news, it turns out that at three of the men who sent Clementine Ford abusive and/or threatening messages, aren’t actually men at all: they’re boys. And immature ones, at that.

Shocking, no?
As you might recall, Ford posted her views online regarding the Adelaide nude photo leak and Sunrise’s victim-blaming post about it. Shortly after, she was harassed, threatened and abused via her Facebook and Twitter pages – so she screenshotted the messages, and posted them for the world to see.
Ford said to the ABC that part of her activism is about ‘dispelling these myths of the basement-dwelling monster – most of these people [who abuse and threaten women online] are normal.’
Adelaide High School‘s principal Anita Zocchi said the school had been inundated with emails informing them of what the three boys had done. She suspended the boys, and sent a school-wide letter, which describes their actions as ‘abhorrent’
“They are very distressed”, said Zocchi. But she also added that “they have a very good record in the school and they understand the huge error of their ways.”
Considering feeling ‘very distressed’ is just the tip of the iceberg of emotions that women experience after being abused and threatened online, we’d like to hope they truly do understand the error of their ways.
