High School Student Comes Out With A Bang In Hilarious Yearbook Quote

The sassy yearbook quote is one of the internet’s favourite mediums, and New Jersey senior Maxwell Barrett has thrown down a challenge to future generations of high school students with an all-time classic.
Earlier this week, the 18-year-old Tweeted a screenshot of his yearbook photo and quote: “Of course I dress well, I didn’t spend all that time in the closet for nothing.”

Barrett’s big coming-out gesture caught the attention of the internet at large, and before long, the photo had gone viral as balls, and The Huffington Post were hitting him up for quotes.
“I wanted to go out with a bang,” he told them. “I had never done sports, or clubs. I was always just an art student. I wanted to go out in a way people would remember me by!”
He said that the yearbook’s organisers initially didn’t want to run the quote, because of its “shock value”, but that since it ran, classmates and teachers have pulled him aside to comment and congratulate him.
The bar for future yearbook quotes has now been set. Well played, Barrett, well played.
