Maybe Tony Abbott was trying to seem more relatable to the electorate after that whole onion debacle, or maybe he just likes getting on the piss. Either way, here we are.
Overnight, at the Royal Oak Hotel in Double Bay, our fair Prime Minister skolled a beer as a crowd cheered on. Here’s video evidence of said event taking place:
The UTS Bats Aussie rules club were at the pub celebrating, and their coach Simon Carrodus approached Abbott and asked if he would like to join the in skolling a VB.
Per Carrodus, Abbott said “absolutely no problem.”
“Then he proceeds to reach down and grab a schooner and he drank from head-to-toe the entire schooner, dribbling little bits on his shirt … He was proud as punch.”
Because the internet loves the smell of hypocrisy in the morning, various people have pointed towards an editorial Abbott wrote for the Courier Mail last year, calling for action against “binge drinking culture.”
