Here’s A Quick & Easy Doggy Cookie Recipe To Whip Up On The Weekend

You know how sometimes on a weekend you just wanna make yourself some delicious cookies, get the house smelling great, show off your domestic prowess to your housemates? Yeah, I feel ya.

Say you’ve got a little bit of cookie ingredients left over and a couple of beady eyes looking up at you from the floor, with a snuffling nose pressed into your leg. Yeah, someone else wants in on the treats too, pal.

Of course lots of human foods in cookies are no good for pups, like chocolate, so the team over at Vitamix let us in on a little secret cookie recipe to bless your lil’ woofer with some snacks while you snack.

Makes 10 biscuits

Ingredients
220 ml (1⅓ cup) peanut butter
200 ml (1¼ cup) hot water
240 g (2 cups) whole wheat flour
80 g (1 cup) rolled oats

Directions
Preheat oven to 180°.
Place peanut butter and hot water into a Vitamix, or high-performance blender, and secure the lid.
Select the lowest speed (Variable 1). Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to the highest setting. Blend for 30 seconds.
Remove the lid and add the flour and oats to the mix.
Secure the lid, select a medium speed (Variable 6) and pulse the mixture 5-6 times. You’ll notice the dough starting to form a ball and lift off the blades.
(If you don’t have a pulse function, this can easily be done by quickly turning the machine on and off.)

Remove the lid and scrape down the sides, adding a little flour if the dough looks too moist and hasn’t formed a ball. Pulse again 5-6 times.
Transfer the mixture onto a floured work surface and knead for 1-2 minutes.
Roll out dough into 0.6 cm (¼ inch) thickness and use your favourite cookie cutter to cut into shapes! A bone shaped cookie cutter is totally recommended.
Bake on a parchment lined baking tray for about 40 minutes.
Remove, and allow to cool on a wire baking rack. Once cooled, serve to your favourite pupper!

You can also pop in some extra special bits like liver treats to really jazz up your pup’s cookies – just chuck ’em in.

Now both you and your floofy woofer can lick the bowl and not feel too bad about it.
