This story is certifiably insane. A prominent British politician has dumped his 25-year-old model girlfriend after her racist text messages about Meghan Markle were exposed, threatening his job.
Meet Henry Bolton, 54, leader of the UK Independence Party (i.e. the people responsible for Brexit), and his former girlfriend, Jo Marney, 25.

They went public with their relationship barely two weeks ago, shocking the UKIP party when Bolton announced he was leaving his wife for her. Calls for his resignation were made.
But now, they’ve officially split up, after Marney was revealed to have sent a number of explicitly racist text messages about Markle, plunging Bolton’s tanking political career into further crisis.

In the messages, sent to a male friend just three weeks before starting her relationship with Bolton, Marney said that Prince Harry‘s “black American” will “taint” the Royal Family with “her seed”, pave the way for a “black king”, and that she’s “a scrubber” and “gender equality twat” who is “obsessed with race”.
She also used Markle’s mixed-raced identity as reason why she shouldn’t be marrying Prince Harry.
“She’s black … a dumb little ‘actress’ that no one has heard of …. this is Britain, not Africa,” she said.
When her friend accused her of being racist, she replied: “Lol so what. Not wanting other races and cultures to invade your own culture doesn’t mean I hate their race. Just means I don’t want their cultures invading mine.”
She continued: “Just don’t like her … she’s a black American … pushing their way to the top slowly. Next will be a Muslim PM … and a black king.”

After the Daily Mail confronted her with the texts, Marney apologised “unreservedly”. She claiming that her texts were “deliberately exaggerated to make a point”, but didn’t elaborate on what that point was, which was probably for the best. Not sure how well “I’m a huge giant racist” can be argued, anyway.
Following the scandal, her UKIP membership was immediately revoked, and now, facing a leadership crisis, Bolton has officially dumped her.
He announced the split on Good Morning Britain.
“Well, as of last night, the romantic side of our relationship has ended,” he said. “The conversation will remain a private conversation, but it was a long and upsetting conversation for both of us, but at the moment, it is quite incompatible to continue the relationship.”
“She’s absolutely distraught by this,” he continued, explaining that when she sent the text messages, she had no idea they would be made public. Uh-huh.
He also assured GMB that he had no plans to resign over this scandal. Bolton was already facing calls to resign after unexpectedly leaving his wife for Marney, so this complete and utter disaster has probably put the nail in the coffin on his political career.
